Installation Guide

During Setup, StudioLine will adhere to the language settings of the operating system. Once installed, StudioLine offers a number of supported languages. To choose a language, select “Language” from the “Preferences” menu. The final system language will be determined when you enter the product activation code.

Installing from a CD

Insert the StudioLine CD-ROM in the drive to start Setup. If AutoRun has been disabled for your CD-ROM drive, open “Control Panel” and choose “Add/Remove Programs”.

Installing from the Internet

Download the current version of StudioLine Photo Pro from our website.

If prompted, click “Run” or “Save”. If you have saved the installer, double-click the installer file to start the installation process.

Setup the Data Directory

On first start after the installation, you will be prompted to setup a path where StudioLine stores your data. You can decide to setup a data directory for a server installation, connect a client to the server installation or simply setup a local data directory on your computer.

Setup on the Server

After selecting “Server Install”, you will be prompted to enter a path where StudioLine stores your data.

If a Data Directory already exists on your computer (e.g. from an older installation), you can enter the appropriate path. StudioLine then will use this path and convert the data to the most current version if necessary.

This will setup a network share “StudioLineD$” on the server, that will be accessed by the client installations. For security purposes you can select a specific network user or all users to grant access to that shared directory.

Setup on a Client

After selecting “Client Install”, you will be prompted to enter a server name where the shared data directory exists. In addition you have to enter a path where some local files (e.g. log files) will be stored.

Setup a Local Data Directory

After selecting “Local Install”, you will be prompted to enter a path where StudioLine stores your data.

If a Data Directory already exists on your computer (e.g. from an older installation), you can click on the “Browse” button and select the appropriate path. StudioLine then will use this path and convert the data to the most current version if necessary.
